LIST: Podcasts you can listen to that explore the ups and downs of womanhood

Published Mar 07, 2025 9:47 pm

To truly understand the world, we must listen to the diverse voices that shape it. Podcasts provide a space for women to break down barriers and share their unfiltered experiences.

This Women's Month, we're highlighting Filipino women who are using their voices to discuss relationships, careers, health, and more. Their podcasts offer a chance for everyone to learn, empathize, and build bridges of understanding.

Go Hard Girls

The Philippines has long produced some of the fiercest female athletes the world has seen and continue to make waves in their sports and show everyone just how strong the Filipina can be.

Sadly, there isn’t much discussion on the nitty gritty that comes with being a woman in an industry that tends to cater more towards men.

Enter Go Hard Girls, the first podcast dedicated to the stories of Filipina athletes. Hosted by sports reporter and award-winning writer Ceej Tantengco, the series explores the experiences of our local female athletes in their respective fields while exploring the question of what the sports industry would be like if it was better for women.

Some of the sports icons you can hear from include basketball player Ella Fajardo, SEA Games gold medalist Nesthy Petecio, racing driver Bianca Bustamante, and more.

Go Hard Girls is available to listen on Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, PodBean, RadioPublic, Spotify, and Copy RSS.

Filipina on the Rise

It’s time to rise up for Filipina on the Rise, a podcast hosted by Krystl Fabella that aims to shine the spotlight on Filipinas who are doing big things and making an impact on their respective industries.

You’ll gain insights from women leaders on how they thrived in their careers amid all challenges in their journey while tackling cultural topics related to being Filipino in the modern day and celebrating what it means to be a Filipina.

“Growing up, I always noticed the lack of Filipino women representation in different industries: from media, to finance, tech, as well as our missing education: on our history, contributions, our multifaceted narratives,” Fabella said on why she started the podcast, per her website.

“After college, I followed my curiosity around innovation and tech and moved to San Francisco, leading engineering recruiting for several tech companies. I still noticed a lack of diverse representation, and was inspired to begin a Podcast that spotlighted Filipino who were at the top of their fields, and how they got there,” she continued.

Filipina on the Rise is available to listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Podcast Addict, Pocket Casts, Castbox, and Podbean.
