IELTS opens new test centers in Manila, Makati, Cebu, Cavite, and Batangas
The British Council has expanded available test venues in the Philippines for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
The council added five new locations to its roster: Cebu City, Imus (Cavite), Lipa (Batangas), Makati, and Manila. It also plans to open more IELTS test centers in the coming months.
The British Council was able to add new IELTS on Paper and IELTS on Computer test centers by partnering with CPILS, Roman Canadian Immigration Services, and the 9.0 Niners IELTS Review Centre.
Paper tests are available up to three times monthly in Metro Manila, as well as once a month in other key cities. Meanwhile, more flexible and readily available computer tests have daily schedules.
By undertaking these initiatives, the British Council hopes to make the world's most popular English language proficiency test "more accessible to Filipinos."
The Cebu City-based Center for Premier International Language Studies allows candidates to take all IELTS tests (Regular, UKVI, Like Skills). The Lipa, Batangas test center, meanwhile, is "ideal for candidates aspiring to go to Canada as the location is also in partnership with Roman Canadian Immigration Services, conveniently located in the same building."
Millions of IELTS tests were taken in the past year due to the language proficiency exam's role in higher education and global migration.
