HYROX race for children aged 8 to 15 to make Asian debut in November
Do you have little ones who are also into fitness? HYROX Youngstars, a version of the popular fitness race tailored for younger athletes, is coming to Asia for the first time in November.
In an announcement, HYROX stated that the competition will take place at Singapore Expo from Nov 28 to 29.
According to its website, the race will be adapted from the global HYROX race and will feature four categories tailored for every age group.
"Combining running with functional fitness, Youngstars welcomes all abilities and gives young athletes the opportunity to build confidence, resilience and experience the excitement of race day," they wrote on their website.
There are four age divisions for the competition: eight to nine, 10 to 11, 12 to 13, and 14 to 15 years old. Each age group is further divided by biological gender.
Participants will take on eight exercise stations, namely, SkiErg, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Burpee Broad Jump or Frogger Jumps, Rowing, Farmers Carry, Lunges, and Wall Balls or Squats.
According to their rulebook, the eight to nine and 10 to 11 age groups have a entry, middle, and exit run, the 12 to 13 age group has an entry and exit run whereas the oldest age group has a run lap between each station.
The results and ranking system are based on the fastest time in each respective age group or division.
While Youngstars replicates the adult race, HYROX assured that they have adapted the competition to "protect and support children’s development."
Tickets will be available for purchase starting on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. through this link.
