Mandy Moore calls out journalist for forcing her to talk about alleged abuser

Mandy Moore is done talking about her past abusive relationship.

The singer-actress took to social media that her "blood is still boiling" because an unnamed publication wouldn't do an interview with her unless she talked about her ex-husband, Ryan Adams. The publication believes it "would be difficult not to address it in the interview or in the subsequent piece."

Moore shared a screenshot of the message, hiding the names of her representative and abuser, and adding her own statement.

"When they were told that I had spoken plenty about a certain subject in my life and would have no further comment (truly there are countless interviews they could pull from, that story is over and there's nothing more to say.), this was the response we got back," she wrote.

Moore, who is currently pregnant, also shared that "any comment" she makes is only twisted into "clickbait" articles.

"The message this sends is insulting and so out of touch with the cultural discussion around abusive relationships, directly linking someone's value back to their abuser."

"The refusal to interview someone unless they agree to relive that trauma publicly? No thank you. I am about to give birth any second and I'm not afraid to draw healthy boundaries," Moore continued.

She ended her statement that she is a "about to give birth" and is not "afraid to draw healthy boundaries."

Moore and Adams were married from 2009 to 2016. And in an article by New York Times in 2019, several women including Moore accused Adams of emotional abuse and sexual assault.

While Adams has already issued a public apology, Moore revealed that he has not yet reached out to her. She told Today, "I found it curious that someone would make a public apology but not privately. I'm speaking for myself, I have not heard from him. I’m not looking for an apology necessarily, but l do find it curious that someone would do an interview about it without actually making amends privately."

Currently, Moore is married to guitarist Taylor Goldsmith and they are expecting a baby soon.
