Venus retrograde has arrived—here's how it will affect your love life and finances

Feeling a little off? Missing your ex?

In case you didn't know, Venus has turned retrograde in Scorpio, which means it's time to review your relationships, money, values, attraction, and desire.

"In Scorpio, things can get intense and bring issues of trust, intimacy, shared resources, control, power plays, and emotional entanglements to the surface," professional astrologer Monica Morales of OM.MNL told PhilSTAR L!fe.

The tone will change by Oct. 25, when Venus returns to Libra. "What surfaced in Scorpio may then have to be reconsidered through the lens of balance, reciprocity, fairness, harmony, and the agreements that hold relationships together. This period favors reassessment over rushing into a final decision."

The astrology expert said that this cycle may also bring "important turning points" before Venus stations direct on Nov. 14, with the post-shadow period wrapping up on Dec. 16.

Here's what the Venus retrograde means for your sign, including your love life and finances. (Note: For a fuller look at what's ahead, it's best to read your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs altogether. Your Sun reflects your core identity and the week’s central themes, your Moon speaks to your emotional world, while your Rising sign can offer clues to where these developments may show up most visibly in everyday life.)

More from L!fe

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Before deciding what a relationship needs, look closely at the ties already holding it together. Money, intimacy, obligations, or emotional dependence may reveal where the exchange has become uneven. Toward the end of the month, the focus moves to the relationship itself and whether its terms still feel mutual and workable.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

A relationship may be asking for more than a simple yes-or-no answer. Pay attention to how the connection actually functions: the effort, responsibilities, compromises, and routines involved. Toward the end of the month, the practical realities of keeping something going may matter just as much as the feelings themselves.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Pay attention to where your days have become all maintenance and very little enjoyment. Work, obligations, and routines may need editing, not because everything is wrong, but because too much effort may be crowding out what restores you. Toward the end of the month, romance, pleasure, and creativity move back into view.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Attraction may be strong, but this retrograde asks whether it has substance behind it. Romance, dating, or creative pursuits can reveal the difference between what is exciting and what you are genuinely willing to invest in. Toward the end of the month, home, family, and emotional security become a bigger part of the equation.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)

Once the immediate tension settles, look at what the conflict revealed about your private life. Home and family dynamics may need more than a temporary fix if the underlying atmosphere has become draining. Toward the end of the month, conversations take on greater weight, especially where something now needs to be clarified or said differently.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

What is being discussed may matter less than what the conversation reveals about value. Agreements, negotiations, or exchanges can show you where the terms no longer reflect what your time, work, or contribution is worth. Toward the end of the month, money, pricing, and self-worth move to the center of the review.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

The money questions are only part of the story. What you spend on, prioritize, and continue investing in can reveal how much your standards have changed. Toward the end of the month, Venus returns to your sign, and the review becomes much more personal: your image, relationships, preferences, and the way you want to move forward may all be due for an update.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

Notice what is changing in the way you attract, respond, and relate, rather than rushing to define who you are becoming. Your preferences, standards and reactions may be shifting before you fully understand why. Toward the end of the month, the retrograde turns inward, bringing private feelings, old attachments, or unfinished emotional material closer to the surface.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

What resurfaces may show you not only what is unfinished, but how much emotional space it still occupies. You do not necessarily have to resolve everything immediately; awareness may be enough for now. Toward the end of the month, the focus moves outward toward friendships, community, and the people you want beside you going forward.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

Pay attention to the quality of the alliances around you, not just the number of people in your corner. Some connections may prove genuinely supportive, while others may be built more on convenience, access, or mutual advantage. Toward the end of the month, career and reputation come into focus, making those distinctions more consequential.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

The bigger question may not be whether you are succeeding, but whether the success still means something to you. Recognition, visibility, or professional momentum can feel strangely empty if the direction itself has lost relevance. Toward the end of the month, travel, study, publishing or a change in perspective may reopen a path you had stopped considering.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)

A plan or direction may still be viable, but your reasons for pursuing it could be changing. Travel, education, legal matters, or a long-range decision may look different once you reconsider what it is actually leading toward. Toward the end of the month, shared money, intimacy, and trust become more immediate, bringing the consequences of those choices closer to home.
