Star-studded night and electrifying performances: Here's what to expect at the first Asia Star Entertainer Awards

Get ready for the first-ever Asia Star Entertainer Awards (ASEA)!

Marking its inaugural ceremony, ASEA —which recognizes the K-pop and Asian artists who took the world stage by storm—will is set to happen on Wednesday, April 10, at K-Arena Yokohama, the world's largest music-only concert hall with a capacity of 20,000 seats.  

2PM's Taecyeon and Girls' Generation's Yuri will host the awards show launched by Newsen and @star1 magazine. This marks the first time that two second-generation K-pop idols will work together after 17 years since their debut.

How to watch?

The event will be broadcast live on the Newsen YouTube channel with the red carpet starting at 3:30 p.m. The award ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Star-studded guests

Autumn in My Heart star Song Seung Heon and Vincenzo's Jeon Yeo Been will attend the event as they will be presenting the Daesang (Grand Prize) Award.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya actress Francine Diaz will also grace the affair. The local young actress on Instagram shared the good news, inviting her fans to watch the event. 

Performances

K-pop groups will shake the event's arena with performances from THE BOYZ, STAYC, NiziU, DAY6, Billie, Fantasy Boys, Stray Kids, TWS, SHINee member Taemin, TXT, NCT WISH, and TREASURE.

Likewise, J-pop groups such as THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE, Creepy Nuts, JO1, and INI have also confirmed their presence at the award show as part of the performer's lineup.

According to its website, the timings and performing lineup are subject to change under the given conditions of the day.

Nominees

Some of the well-loved K-pop artists are included in the list of nominees, including notable NewJeans, NiziU, LE SSERAFIM, IVE, aespa, (G)I-DLE, ITZY, and TWICE.

Meanwhile, nominated K-pop boy groups include RIIZE, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, ATEEZ, EXO, NCT 127, NCT Dream, ENHYPEN, ZEROBASEONE, TXT, and TREASURE.

The list also included soloists such as BLACKPINK's Jisoo, BTS members Jimin, Jungkook, and V, and South Korean ballad, pop, and trot singer Lim Young-Woong.
