Miss World 2025 to be held in India in May
The stage is set for Miss World 2025.
The 72nd edition of the pageant will be held in Telangana, India, the Miss World organization announced on Instagram.
The festival will occur from May 7 to 31, with the opening ceremonies and grand finale happening in Hyderabad.
"We are delighted to bring the 72nd Miss World Festival to Telangana, a state that beautifully represents its rich culture, innovation, and hospitality," Miss World Limited Chairman and CEO Julia Morley said in a statement.
"Partnering with the Telangana government allows us to showcase its incredible yet dynamic growth to a global audience."
Telangana is a state in the southern part of India formed in 2019.
"This collaboration is not just about hosting the Miss World Festival; it’s about empowering communities, celebrating diversity, and making a lasting impact through our shared commitment to beauty with a purpose" Morley added.
India served as the host of the previous Miss World pageant where Czech Republic's Krystyna Psyková was crowned. She bested 111 other contestants including the Philippines' Gwndolyne Fourniol, who missed out on entering the top 40.
Krishnah Gravidez will represent the Philippines in the coming competition. She aims to take home the country's second Miss World crown after Megan Young's win in 2013.
Other than Miss World, Miss Universe earlier announced that its 2025 pageant will be held on Nov. 21 at the Impact Muang Thong Thani in Thailand.
