Nawat Itsaragrisil, the president of  Miss Grand International (MGI), has secured a five-year license to organize Miss Universe Thailand.

On Instagram, the newly established social media account of Miss Universe Thailand released photos of Nawat with Miss Universe Organization CEO Anne Jakrajutatip at its Feb. 18 press conference in Bangkok.

"A historic moment! [T]he dawn of a new era for Thai pageantry begins!" the caption read.

'Hello Universe, Hello MGI'

In a separate post, Jakrajutatip congratulated and welcomed Nawat as the newest member of the MUO.

"Today is a special day to congratulate MGI PCL on officially becoming a new member of the Miss Universe Organization family. They have granted the official rights for Miss Universe Thailand," the Thai businesswoman began.

She continued, "I would also like to extend a warm welcome to Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil, our esteemed leader who is respected and trusted and has demonstrated outstanding success at the level of a publicly listed company. He is now officially part of the Miss Universe Organization as well."

Jakrajutatip went on to state that MUO and MGI will collaborate to empower women worldwide by launching new partnerships and projects.

The Thai businesswoman also underscored that the partnership aims to "strengthen and advance" female empowerment.

On Monday, Feb. 17, Nawat made rounds online after posting photos of himself against a backdrop of the Miss Universe signage, which drew speculation about whether he acquired the MUT license.

During that time, Sakul Limpapanon, also part of the MGI organization, posted the "official social media accounts" of Miss Universe Thailand.

"Hello, The New Era of MUT," the caption read.

'Change is a natural thing'

Pui Sankosik, the managing director of TPN Global and license holder of Miss Universe Thailand, said in a Facebook post that "change is a natural thing" and that they were "proud" of what they had done.

"Congratulations! Change is a natural thing. We are proud of what we have done. We do it with love. Let's keep going," she said in Thai.

The grand coronation night of Miss Universe 2025 will happen on Nov. 21 at the Impact Muong Thong Thani Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
