No external injuries on 2 dead bodies found inside parked car along TPLEX: police
Authorities have given an update on their initial forensic examination of the two deceased individuals who were found inside a vehicle parked at a gas station along TPLEX.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, June 18, the Tarlac Police Provincial Office said that their initial investigation showed "no apparent external injuries were found on the deceased."
"The cadavers were subsequently brought to a funeral facility for proper disposition and processing," they added.
The two individuals were discovered inside a parked vehicle on Wednesday, June 17.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, a manager requested a check past 2 p.m. after growing concerned about a vehicle that had been parked at the gas station longer than usual. Staff called emergency assistance at 2:45 p.m. after the discovery.
Police arrived soon after and secured the scene. They had the vehicle towed later that evening.
Victims identified
GMA News reported that the two people have been identified by their families.
"Ang pagkakakilanlan ng mga biktima ay mahalagang bahagi ng patuloy na imbestigasyon at case documentation upang matukoy ang lahat ng kaugnay na pangyayari sa insidente," said Police Captain Rub Alcantara, who serves as TPPO's public information officer.
Per the media outlet, their families asked for privacy as they grieve their loved ones' deaths. They also requested that further information on the case not be made public during the investigation.
For now, the Tarlac Police is asking the public to refrain from sharing unverified information to avoid sowing confusion and anxiety. Instead, authorities urged everyone to rely only on official statements released by the Philippine National Police and other government agencies.
