Remains of missing 'Virgin River' actor Stewart McLean found
The remains of Virgin River actor Stewart McLean have been recovered.
McLean was reported missing earlier this week, with authorities later upgrading the investigation to a suspected homicide. His agency, Lucas Talent Inc., broke the news to fans in a Facebook statement.
"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved client, Stew McLean," talent agent Jodi Caplan said, adding he was "fortunate" to have worked with him for more than 10 years.
"He was always such a pleasure to deal with—dedicated, professional, eager, and endlessly funny," Caplan continued. "Many casting directors have reached out to share their condolences with Stew's family and with our agency, and every message says the same thing: what a truly great guy he was, and how deeply he will be missed. Rest in peace, Stew. xo"
People on Saturday reported that McLean's remains were located in the Lions Bay area, as per a press release by Canada's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
The 45-year-old Canadian actor was last seen at his home in Lions Bay, British Columbia, on Friday, May 15. Three days later, a missing person report for McLean was sent to the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Officials stated that police and partnering agencies worked to locate the actor "from the onset of the missing persons investigation."
“On May 20, IHIT deployed and assumed conduct of the investigation,” a press release on Thursday said.
“Squamish RCMP continues to work closely with IHIT and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) to advance the investigation. Squamish RCMP initiated an investigation and, through investigative efforts, uncovered evidence that led investigators to believe Mr. McLean was victim of homicide," it continued.
McLean appeared on a number of television shows, including Virgin River, Arrow, Murder in a Small Town, Happy Face, The Irrational, and Cloud Van Tales.
