2 deceased bodies found inside parked vehicle at TPLEX gas station
Two deceased, unidentified individuals were discovered inside a parked vehicle at a southbound gas station on the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway on Wednesday, June 17.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, a manager requested a check past 2 p.m. after growing concerned about a vehicle that had been parked at the gas station longer than usual. Staff called emergency assistance at 2:45 p.m. after the discovery.
Police arrived soon after and secured the scene. They had the vehicle towed later that evening.
"Sa kasalukuyan, ang insidente ay patuloy na sumasailalim sa masusing imbestigasyon ng mga otoridad, sa tulong ng Tarlac Forensic Unit," the Tarlac Police Provincial Office said in a statement released Wednesday night.
"Inaasahan po natin na sa lalong madaling panahon ay makumpleto ang forensic examination at iba pang kinakailangang proseso upang makatulong sa pagresolba sa naturang insidente," the statement continued.
Details remain sparse, with local management declining to reveal whether CCTV captured relevant images around the scene.
While it is conducting its investigation, the Tarlac Police has requested the public to refrain from sharing unverified information to avoid sowing confusion and anxiety.
"Hinihikayat namin ang publiko na makipagtulungan at iwasan ang pagpapakalat ng mga hindi beripikadong impormasyon, haka-haka, at mga pahayag na maaaring magdulot ng kalituhan, pangamba, at maling interpretasyon sa naturang insidente," the police statement read, further asking the public to rely only on official statements released by the Philippine National Police and other government agencies.
Further, the Tarlac Police assured the public that they would release updates as the investigation gathers evidence.
