Time to move on: Here's how you can donate your ex's stuff to Caritas Manila

Published Feb 25, 2025 9:13 pm

Moving on from a relationship often involves dealing with the "ex-box," a repository of mementos, gifts (some of which you never liked but kept anyway), and other reminders of what once was. We've all been there.

While burning, trashing, or returning them are common practices, Caritas Manila offers a new alternative: You can now donate your "Break-up Box" to them.

"The pain of the past? The objects that used to mean something? Oo, kasya yan sa #BreakUpBox. Help yourself heal from a broken relationship, and help someone in need," it wrote on social media.

If the idea of awkward hand-offs fills you with dread, this is the way to go. Not only do you declutter your space, but you also contribute to a good cause and give your belongings a chance to find a new home.

According to Caritas Manila, you can use any box to fill in with your items.

Then, drop off these boxes at any Segunda ManaCharity outlets:

  • Gift Corner, 3rd Floor, Market Market, Taguig City
  • Level 3, Farmer’s Plaza, Cubao, Quezon City
  • 2nd Floor, Fairview Terraces, Quezon City
  • Caritas Manila Compound, Manila
  • Ground Floor, 500 Shaw, Mandaluyong City
  • Riverbank Mall, Marikina City
  • 3rd Floor, StarMall Edsa-Shaw, Mandaluyong City

Don't forget to take a photo after dropping off your items. You'll also receive a token from the organization.
