Masungi Georeserve's 'Celestial Nights' extended until February
What better way to spend your weekend than under a stunning night sky with a sumptuous meal on the side?
If you missed out on Celestial Nights at Masungi Georeserve, fret not. It has been extended to the weekends of January and February 2026 (except Feb. 21).
This experience includes a 45-minute guided hike to Masungi's darkest vantage point, followed by a stargazing session led by experts from the Philippine Astronomical Society.
Guests are required to use the red light while walking the trail. Visually impaired guests are encouraged to inform the team in advance so they can accommodate their needs.
In case of a cloudy night sky, an alternative experience will be offered. Instead, a guided presentation by experts in a covered area nestled between the rock peaks will take place. The event may focus on the moon or stars, depending on which celestial bodies are most visible in the night sky.
The experience doesn't end when the sun goes down. The four-hour journey culminates in a lantern-lit dinner under the stars. Feast on local comfort food—such as puto bumbong, bibingka, grilled chicken minalot, and fish fillet in coconut cream—wrapped in fragrant banana leaves.
To maintain an intimate atmosphere, each session is limited to just 14 guests. Reservations are required at least one week in advance for the 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. slots. Note though that to keep the experience authentic, all spiels are delivered in Filipino.
This event is open to guests aged 7 and above at a rate of P3,000 per person (discounted to P2,800 for groups of four or more).
