PSA: MRT-3, LRT-1, PNR to implement adjusted operating schedule for 2023 holidays
Filipinos going around the metro via train during the Christmas season would have to organize their schedules early, as the country's railway systems have adjusted their operating hours during the holidays.
In a Facebook post, MRT line three (MRT-3) announced that the operating hours for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, as well as Christmas and New Year's Day, will be adjusted.
According to the train line, it will follow its regular weekday schedule on December 18 to 22, 26 to 29, this year and January 2 to 3, 2024; the weekend schedule will be observed for December 16, 23, and 30.
Operating hours will also be adjusted for Christmas and New Year's Eve, with both North and Taft Avenue lines running their first trip at 6:30 a.m. Last trips, however, are scheduled at 9:30 p.m. for the North Avenue line and 10:30 p.m. for Taft Avenue.

Meanwhile, those commuting using the Philippine National Railways (PNR) would only have to adjust their schedules on Dec. 31, 2023 and Jan. 1, 2024.
The adjusted operating hours cover trips from Tutuban to Alabang, Tutuban to Governor Pascual and vice versa, Governor Pascual to Bicutan, Bicutan to Governor Pascual, Lucena to San Pablo, and Calamba to San Pablo.
It also includes trips from Naga to Sipocot, Sipocot to Naga, and Naga to Ligao.

The Light Rail Manila Corporation has released its special Christmas season schedule for Light Rail Transit-1. It will follow regular weekdays/weekends/holiday operations on Dec. 25, Dec. 26, Dec. 30, and Jan. 1.
The last train will leave Baclaran Station at 8:00 p.m., while the last train from Fernando Poe Jr. Station will be at 11:00 p.m. from Dec. 20 to 22. The next day, the last train from both aforementioned stations will leave at 10:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m., respectively.
"On Christmas Eve, the last train will leave Baclaran Station at 8:00 p.m. while the last train from Fernando Poe Jr. Station will leave at 8:15 p.m. On New Year’s Eve, the last train from Baclaran Station will leave at 7:00 p.m., and at 7:15 p.m. from Fernando Poe. Jr. Station," it said, adding that no changes will be made in the first trip for both northbound and southbound trips that begin at 4:30 a.m. on weekdays and 5:00 a.m. during weekends and the holidays.
The Light Rail Transit Authority, which manages LRT-2, has yet to release its schedules for the holidays.
