Coachella Music Festival is returning in April 2022
Gather your travel buddies and hope for the best next year, as the iconic desert music event Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will be making a comeback in April 2022.
After it was postponed twice in 2020 for the first time in 20 years, the California-based festival has now taken to social media to announce its highly-anticipated return.
“See you in the desert,” they shared with a cactus emoji to commemorate the event.
It was first canceled in June of 2020 and moved to October, where it was once again canceled amid the surge of the COVID-19 pandemic. With US-wide vaccinations now in order, the festival set to return to its roots of 2-weekend events to be held on April 15 to 17 and April 22 to 24, 2022.
The 2021 lineup has yet to be released, though the canceled 2020 performance list saw the likes of Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Lana Del Ray, Lil Nas X, and Rage Against the Machine rocking the Coachella stage.
Its return is also a sign of the country’s eventual return to social gatherings and public events, as Coachella is known for its typically jam-packed setting. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has also allowed Americans to go maskless if they are fully vaccinated and among other vaccinated people.
