Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of the hit Japanese manga My Hero Academia, is saying goodbye to the series after 10 years.

In case you missed it, Izuku "Deku" Midoriya's exciting journey as a budding hero finally ended when the manga released its final chapter, Chapter 430, on Aug. 4 (Philippine time).

After many fans became bittersweet at the end of the beloved manga, Horikoshi penned a heartfelt message expressing his gratitude to his supporters while reflecting on his work.

"The My Hero Academia manga ended in the Jump released this week! I was completely exhausted, but I managed to get to the end! Thanks to everyone who read it!" Horikoshi wrote, according to a translation by Anime Daily.

The manga artist said he is grateful for having the opportunity to have his work featured alongside other iconic manga characters such as Luffy D. Monkey from One Piece.

"I'll never forget the joy and weight of having been able, even for a moment, to put Deku alongside Luffy in the legendary Jump, and to have competed with so many interesting mangas," he said.

"I'll continue to draw Deku and his friends, the anime is still airing, the film is screening, the games continue, the spin-off mangas are being published, and there are many events in the pipeline. Thanks to all the people who keep My Hero Academia going, I don't feel this is the end at all," he ended.

My Hero Academia's anime adaptation is currently in its seventh season, which focuses on the final battle of the U.A. High students and the remaining Pro Heroes against the main antagonist Tomura Shigaraki, and the villains of the Paranormal Liberation Front.

Launched by Kohei Horikoshi in 2014, My Hero Academia has since become a worldwide sensation and has over 65 million copies in circulation.

It follows an enthusiastic superhero fanboy named Izuku Midoriya who dreams of being a hero like his idol All Might, in a society filled with people with a power called "quirks."

However, there's one thing that's stopping him: he doesn't have a quirk. That all changes after a fateful encounter with the legendary All Might. Now with his own quirk, Izuku starts his journey of becoming the No. 1 hero by enrolling at U.A. High School, the most prestigious hero training academy.
