It's official: Alex Gonzaga reveals baby's name
Marking her baby boy's first month, Alex Gonzaga has revealed his name.
"Exactly one month ago, we finally met our baby boy, Isaac Gerard G. Morada," Gonzaga wrote on Instagram late Tuesday, Sept. 8.
"Thank you, Jesus, for a successful CS delivery and for giving us our answered prayer, our son Isaac," she added.
While Gonzaga did not say whether her son's name carries any special meaning, it appears it does.
According to the website of the City Government of Lipa, where Gonzaga's husband Mikee Morada serves as vice mayor, Morada's second name is Gerard.
Adding another layer of meaning, St. Gerard Majella is the patron saint of expectant mothers and childbirth.
Combining it with Isaac may have been inspired by the Bible. Gonzaga and Morada are both practicing Christians, and the actress has publicly shared about their deep faith.
Isaac is a Hebrew word that roughly means "he laughs." It comes from the story of Abraham and his wife Sarah in the Book of Genesis. In it, Abraham and Sarah, who had both given up on having children in their old age, laughed when God told Abraham they would bear a son. Being 100 and 90 years old, respectively, both found the suggestion ridiculous and funny. But Sarah did give birth to Isaac, whose name became a testament to his parents' humor and joy.
Gonzaga and Morada, while considerably younger than Sarah and Abraham, did wait for their son for six years, suffering three miscarriages before Isaac Gerard was born.
