If he didn’t run and win in the 2019 elections, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto shared that he would have been a professor for good.

In the Wednesday episode of the Department Of Education’s (DepEd) MathRelax Tayo Facebook Live alongside Rep. Roman Romulo, the 32-year-old shared that he would have stayed in the academe as a Political Science professor if given the chance.

“Sandali lang naman yun, sa Arellano University. Actually one sem lang naman yun kasi tumakbo na ‘kong mayor eh,” said Sotto. “Kung hindi ako tumakbong mayor, tinuloy-tuloy ko yun. Isa talaga yun sa mga gusto kong gawin eh.”

The mayor also quipped that he’s only willing to teach at an undergraduate level: “Hindi ako masyadong pasensyado, baka uminit ulo ko.”

The DepED EDTech Unit Live also saw the two officials solving math formulas with the hosts while answering questions from the comments section.

The Pasig Mayor had a brief stint as a professorial lecturer in the Pasig University before diving into the local government and ending the 27-year rule of the Eusebio family.

Sotto graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2011. He went on to earn a master's degree in Public Management from the Ateneo School of Government in 2018.
