The first trailer for the sequel to 2016’s home-invasion thriller, Don’t Breathe, is out now, with Stephen Lang reprising his role as Norman Nordstrom.
The trailer features Nordstrom returning to a peaceful life after a robbery in the first film forced him to show a dark and violent monster hidden in his personality.
Set eight years after the first film, the tables are turned this time as Nordstrom is depicted as the protagonist, as he was shown watching over and mentoring a young girl named Phoenix in his new house.
The old man cannot seem to catch a break as another group of people, who are clearly after Phoenix, invades his house.
"The home invaders not only represent a physical threat to him and his daughter, but also will force Norman to confront the unspeakable actions of his past," said co-creator and co-writer Fede Alvarez in an interview with IGN.
"In this new movie, we are presenting the question of whether he can rise from the darkness, or on the contrary, sink deeper into it," said new director and co-writer Rodo Sayagues.
Don’t Breathe 2 will premiere exclusively in theaters on August 13, 2021.
