From in-flight balut to coffee inhalers: The April Fools' 2025 posts that had us laughing

Published Apr 02, 2025 5:58 pm

The first day of April was filled with laughs and pranks.

Brands in different parts of the world made the most of the occasion by showcasing their humor and creativity in more ways than one. Whether it was a "new product release" or a social media stunt, various companies didn't hold back in bringing their A-game for April Fools' Day

The Philippine STAR, for one, drew laughs on Facebook by leaving social media users hanging with its "trivia" post about the yearly celebration. Aside from teasing them with a caption that ended with "See more" with nothing else to see, the media outlet also shared a photo that ended up not loading for all.

Here are other posts that got us laughing on April 1.

Chatime

Chatime joined in the fun by introducing playful beverages on their menu: Cheese Ramyeon Pearl Milk Tea and Tteokbokki Pearl Milk Tea.

The "promotional post" for the Korean milk tea flavors stated, "Spicy, cheesy, and oh-so-creamy—our new Korean fusion milk tea flavors are here! Ready to experience the unexpected?"

"Just kidding! Hope we didn't scare you too much. Happy April Fools'!" it added.

Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut Philippines jokingly released a "Pinya-Free" Hawaiian pizza, leaving fans both amused and slightly confused.

The caption read: "Our Hawaiian pizza now PINYA-FREE!... *Not available in stores."

The fun, however, didn't stop there. The fast food brand also joked about launching "Pizza Punches" featuring drinks with bizarre flavors like Hawaiian Supreme Punch, Super Supreme Punch, and Bacon Cheeseburger Punch.

Sunlight Air

For April Fools', Sunlight Air announced they were offering organic balut to replace their banana chips and make in-flight dining more exciting for its passengers.

"Known for its rich, savory flavor, this delicacy is best enjoyed with a pinch of salt and a sense of adventure," the airline joked. "Pair it with coffee, juice, or water on all our flights—because nothing says authentic Pinoy like an organic, balut-tastic snack in the skies!"

Crunch

Crunch, which is loved for its delicious mix of milk chocolate and crisped rice, pranked its followers by teasing its newest bar "with 75% less noise."

"We cooked the rice so you can finally snack in silence," it wrote on a video showing a crunch bar being placed inside a rice cooker.

Duolingo pulled off one of the most creative April Fools' pranks this year by announcing a fun partnership with Carnival Cruise Line.

Their collaboration? A "first of its kind, five-year global voyage" that promises to have passengers speaking fluent Spanish, French, Japanese, and more—at every port of call.

"Sail across 7 continents explore 195 countries and learn over 40 languages—all while enjoying premium dining and entertainment," the language learning app joked. "Get ready for a vacation where the fun NEVER ends."

Seattle's Best Coffee

Love the smell of coffee? How we wish Seattle's Best Coffee's April Fools' post was not a joke.

On April 1, the coffee brand, as a joke, dropped a "coffee inhaler" that gives you an instant caffeine boost wherever you go.

"Caffeine on the go—no cup, no problem! Available only today," it wrote in a post, before adding a disclaimer: "Any content shared today is purely for April Fool's Day. Don't take things too seriously. It's all in good humor. Enjoy!"
