Ready to be the next K-pop star? YG Entertainment announces 2026 global audition
After two years, YG Entertainment is once again looking for the next generation of stars to lead the music scene beyond K-pop.
The company on Wednesday said the "2026 YG GLOBAL AUDITION" will run from July to December as it searches for new talent from around the world.
YG Entertainment added that the audition has already started in Beijing, China last July 19, with upcoming stops in Chengdu this month; Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Tokyo in August; and Osaka in September.
The entertainment agency added that the search will continue in the United States, Taiwan, and Hong Kong in October, with Thailand and Canada hosting auditions in November, followed by Australia and New Zealand in December.
As posted on the company's website, anyone born between 2008 and 2015 can join the audition, regardless of nationality or gender. Applicants can showcase their skills in singing, rapping, dancing, acting, visuals, and other special talents.
Registration procedures vary by location, with some cities allowing advance registration and others accepting on-site applications. Applicants should also bring an identification ccard that shows the date of birth and a phone or tablet to fill out the online application form.
Meanwhile, information about the venues and schedules will be announced through YG's official website and social media accounts.
YG said that they will contact those who passed individually by email or phone call.
YG Entertainment is the Korean entertainment agency behind big names in the K-Pop music scene, which include BIGBANG, 2NE1, BLACKPINK, and BABYMONSTER.
