BINI's golden ensembles at this year's Coachella were nothing short of spectacular.

During their performance on Saturday, April 11 (Philippine time), the nation’s girl group debuted at the music festival in golden, warrior-inspired costumes paired with the traditional Filipino salakot.

The fits were designed by Marian Zara, with additional detailing by Job Dacon.

On X, Dacon—whose works have been worn by drag queen Marina Summers, actress Anne Curtis, American TV personality Tyra Banks, and singer Carrie Underwood—revealed that each golden outfit incorporated around 20 to 25 sheets of real gold leaf, along with two pounds of recycled plastic.

"Ingenuity and sustainablity finally meets the international stage!" he wrote.

In an interview with Metro.Style, the group's stylist and visual director, Ica Villanueva, said their Coachella outfits were designed to evolve BINI’s visual identity while staying true to their core branding.

“Coachella, being one of the most iconic global stages, naturally elevated the pressure to redefine BINI’s visual identity. There was a strong intention to present something new—something that evolves their established influence in fashion while still remaining true to their core branding,” she said.

Villanueva said the Day 1 outfits transitioned from armor-like forms to fluid, siren-inspired looks that featured elevated looks of salakot and banig, showcasing Filipino craftsmanship with contemporary couture.

“Day 1 explores the fluidity and mystique of water. The silhouettes begin with a warrior-like armor—structured, commanding—before transitioning into a reveal that softens into contemporary sirens, embodying each element with sensuality and movement. From a craftsmanship perspective, we reinterpreted traditional Filipino materials and techniques through a couture lens," she told the outlet.

According to her, the outfits took about four months to create, with conceptualization starting in December and fittings held in March.

BINI is set to return to the Coachella stage on April 17. They will then receive the “Global Force” award at this year’s Billboard Women in Music, alongside Laufey, Kehlani, Zara Larsson, and others, on April 29.

The P-pop act is an eight-member group composed of Aiah, Sheena, Stacey, Mikha, Gwen, Jhoanna, Maloi, and Colet. They were formed on ABS-CBN's talent search, Star Hunt Academy, in 2019 and officially debuted in 2021 with Born to Win
