"Uy, Pilipins!"

BINI made their Coachella debut unforgettable for BLOOMs.

As the first Filipino act to perform on the global music fest, BINI lit up their 45-minute set not just with a string of standout performances but also some fun moments in between—from an exciting costume change to Maloi's "Uy, Pilipins," Mika's "Eyyy," and more.

Below are the highlights of BINIchella.

Jhoanna's voice on the livestream before the set

Before starting their performance, a minor hiccup occurred while the camera was on standby in the crowd. The group’s leader, Jhoanna, can be heard asking their coach where their water was stationed.

From golden salakot to shiny blue ensembles

BINI dominated the stage in golden ensembles accented with traditional Filipino salakot. They later transitioned into blue outfits featuring woven natural fiber textiles and shell details, drawing inspiration from Filipino cultural elements and natural motifs.

'Uy, Pilipins!'

As they made waves in the international scene, BINI made sure to bring their Filipino humor with them. Maloi drew laughs when she uttered the viral Filipino meme line, “Uy, Pilipins!” during their introduction after performing three songs.

'Eyyy!'

Another funny moment came during one of their interactions with the crowd, when Mikha taught fans the famous “Eyyy” gesture.

Sheena's viral phrase, “Eyyy ka muna, eyyy,” complete with its signature hand sign, took the internet by storm in 2024. The catchphrase has since been used in everyday moments—from celebrating small wins to lighthearted “laughing through the pain” situations.

It all started during a fan meet-and-greet, when a graduating fan shared her emotions. Sheena responded, “Naiiyak ka? Eyyy ka muna, eyyy!” while making the “Y” hand sign or shaka gesture, commonly associated with a relaxed “hang loose” vibe.

Electrifying dance breaks

Blooms were treated to several dance breaks throughout the set, including Shagidi, Salamin, Salamin, an extended version of Cherry on Top, and the explosive Pantropiko, before the group closed their performance.

First live performance of Blush

Oh kalami, kalami! BINI also made the live debut of its key track Blush from their latest extended play, Signals, which was released on April 9.

Vocal prowess

During their moment on Coachella’s Mojave stage, BINI showcased high-energy choreography alongside impressive live vocals that sounded almost studio-perfect—be it in rap or high notes. Despite the demanding performance, they maintained strong energy throughout and kept smiling from start to finish.

BINI is set to return to the Coachella stage on April 17. They will then receive the “Global Force” award at this year’s Billboard Women in Music, alongside Laufey, Kehlani, Zara Larsson, and others, on April 29.

The P-pop act is an eight-member group composed of Aiah, Sheena, Stacey, Mikha, Gwen, Jhoanna, Maloi, and Colet. They were formed on ABS-CBN's talent search, Star Hunt Academy, in 2019 and officially debuted in 2021 with Born To Win
