BINI to receive 'Global Force' award at 2026 Billboard Women in Music
BINI is joining this year’s Billboard Women in Music lineup alongside Laufey, Kehlani, Zara Larsson, and others to receive the “Global Force” award.
On April 11, Billboard announced that BINI is this year's "Global Force" honoree, sharing the recognition with The Beaches.
Other awardees include pop stars Ella Langley (Powerhouse), Kehlani (Impact), Laufey (Innovator), Mariah The Scientist (Rising Star), Tate McRae (Hitmaker), Teyana Taylor (Visionary), Thalia (Icon), and Zara Larsson (Breakthrough).
Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the singing voices of HUNTR/X from the hit animated film, K-Pop Demon Hunters, are this year's Women of the Year.
The ceremony will be held on April 29 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California.
This came in hot after the nation's girl group made history as the first all-Filipino act to perform at this year's Coachella. BINI showcased their hits and new tracks on the Mojave stage during their 45-minute show, kicking off with Shagidi, followed by other crowd favorites like Zero Pressure, Out of My Head, Karera, Cherry on Top, Salamin, Salamin, Blink Twice, and Bikini. They also performed their newly released song Blush live for the first time. They ended their show with Pantropiko.
They are scheduled to return to the Coachella stage on April 17.
BINI is an eight-member group composed of Aiah, Sheena, Stacey, Mikha, Gwen, Jhoanna, Maloi, and Colet. They were formed on ABS-CBN's talent search, Star Hunt Academy, in 2019 and officially debuted in 2021 with Born To Win.
After soaring in the local scene in 2023, BINI has since made waves abroad. In July 2024, they made history as the first Filipino act to perform at KCON LA 2024. They also received the “Voices of Asia” award at Billboard Korea, alongside P-pop boy group SB19.
The group was likewise included in Teen Vogue’s “12 Girl Groups to Watch in 2024” and in the “12 Girl Groups To Know Now” list by the Grammy Awards.
They also earned a nomination for Best Asia Act at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards.
