What to expect at the Miss Grand International 2026 coronation night
It’s almost time to crown a new Miss Grand International.
After weeks of preparation, Miss Grand International 2026 is down to its final stretch, with the grand coronation happening on Saturday, Oct. 10.
This year’s competition has already had its share of twists, including a last-minute move from India to Thailand. Now, 78 delegates are vying for the crown, including the Philippines’ Angelica Lopez, who is hoping to follow in the footsteps of reigning queen Emma Tiglao.
Here’s everything you need to know about the coronation night and where you can catch it live.
Preliminary activities
Before the finals night, the delegates will have one more chance to capture the hearts of the judges and fans through the preliminary competition.
They will take the stage for two highly anticipated segments: swimsuit and evening gown, where they’ll showcase their confidence, stage presence, and style.
The event will take place on Oct. 7 at 8:00 p.m. at the MGI Hall, Bravo BKK in Bangkok, Thailand. Hosting the night are Isabella Menin, Luciana Fuster, CJ Opiaza, and Tiglao.
You can watch it on GrandTV's YouTube account.
How the candidates will be narrowed down
From the 78 aspirants, the pageant will bring the field down to the Top 20. Three spots will be awarded through special titles, including Country’s Power of the Year, Grand Talent Award, and Miss Popular.
The remaining 17 spots will be selected by the judges.
The Top 20 will then compete in the swimsuit round, after which they will be narrowed down to the Top 10. From there, they will face the question-and-answer rounds, before the competition is cut down to the final five.
The remaining four finalists will be selected by the judges.
How to vote for your MGI bet
You can help our country's bet advance in the pageant through the Miss Popular vote.
The contestant with the highest number of votes will automatically secure a Fast Track placement into the Top 10 Finalists. Keep in mind, however, that the voting period will close on Oct. 10, immediately after the opening show of the final competition.
To cast your vote, you must create an account on MGI's website and choose the contestant you would like to support. Enter the quantity of votes you wish to cast and proceed to payment.
Each vote costs 35 Thai Baht or P65.
While the pageant has yet to announce its full broadcast details, it's expected to be livestreamed on GrandTV's YouTube account, as has been the case with MGI's previous editions.
