PlayStation Plus announces December 2021 free games including ‘Godfall: Challenger Edition’
PlayStation has released its monthly lineup of free games for December 2021, including a unique edition of Godfall, a third-person fantasy action RPG that launched alongside the PS5.
PS Plus subscribers can end the year on a high note with Godfall: Challenger Edition, Lego DC Super-Villains, Mortal Shell, and Judgment.
The games will be available to download for PlayStation Plus members starting Tuesday, Dec. 7 until Monday, Jan. 3.
Here's a closer look at this month's upcoming Playstation Plus freebies:
Godfall: Challenger Edition (PS5 and PS4)
First up is Godfall: Challenger Edition for the PS5 and PS4, a looter-slasher set in a bright fantasy universe filled with heroic knights and arcane magic.
Following the acclaimed Fire & Darkness expansion and free Lightbringer update in August, Godfall: Challenger Edition will allow new players to experience the game’s trio of endgame modes, minus the story content of the base game and Fire & Darkness expansions, and grant existing players new exciting features and rewards to enjoy.
The fantasy action RPG utilizes high-impact third-person melee combat to engage players as they hunt for loot, don legendary armor sets and defeat vicious enemies.
Lego DC Super-Villains (PS4)
LEGO DC Super-Villains will let gamers embark on an all-new DC Lego adventure by becoming the best villain the universe has seen.
Players will create and play as an all-new super-villain throughout the game, unleashing mischievous antics and wreaking havoc in an action-packed story.
Set in an open world experience within the DC universe, the Justice League has disappeared, leaving Earth’s protection to their counterparts, who have proclaimed themselves as the “Justice Syndicate.”
It’s up to you and a crazy group of misfits to uncover the intentions of Earth’s new, strange, wannabe superheroes. Joined by renowned DC Super-Villains: The Joker, Harley Quinn, and countless others from the Injustice League, players will set out on an epic adventure.
Mortal Shell (PS4)
Mortal Shell is a ruthless and deep single-player action-RPG that will test your sanity and resilience in a shattered world.
As the remains of humanity wither and rot, zealous foes fester in the ruins. They spare no mercy, with survival demanding superior awareness, precision, and instincts. Track down hidden sanctums of devout followers and discover your true purpose.
Judgment (PS4)
From the team that brought you the critically acclaimed Yakuza series comes Judgment, a gritty tale of disgraced attorney Takayuki Yagami in his quest for redemption.
Haunted by his past, he takes up arms as a private detective, clawing his way through Kamurocho’s underground crime network to investigate a string of grisly murders. In this psychological thriller, the balance between justice and mercy teeters on the edge.

PlayStation Plus members can still add November’s free games Knockout City, First Class Trouble, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, and The Sexy Brutale to their game library until Monday, December 6.
