Weekend Watchlist: Escapist Fare
It’s been a tough week. Typhoon Ulysses caught many people off guard and forced thousands to evacuate their homes amid rising waters. It really seems like we can’t catch a break this 2020.
With our country being battered once again, most of us just want to escape to better days or another lifetime. Thankfully, streaming sites continue to dish out series and films to keep people entertained at home and provide a momentary escape from real life.
For those of us who are lucky to be safe and sound with a roof over our heads at home, here are some fun, feel-good series and lighthearted films you can catch this weekend.

Synopsis: Seo Dal Mi has dreams of becoming Korea's own Steve Jobs, and with her genius first love, an investor, and a business insider by her side, her dream may be closer than she thinks. This romantic K-Drama starring Bae Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk has been topping Netflix’s trending charts for weeks since it was launched in October, offering a vibrant mix of drama, comedy and business insights.
Dash & Lily
Synopsis: Opposites attract at Christmas as cynical Dash and sunny Lily trade messages and dares in a red notebook they pass back and forth around New York CIty. The delightful rom-com adventure with plenty of holiday cheer is based on the young adult series Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn.

Synopsis: Two house flippers are certain they can handle their latest project: adopting three longtime foster kids. But this group is anything but a family. The earnest, heartwarming family comedy stars Wahlberg and Rose Byrne as the foster parents.

Synopsis: In the heart of the suburbs, a conventional couple find themselves swet up in global espionage when mysterious new neighbors move in. The film stars Zach Galifianakis, Jon Hamm, Isla Fisher and Gal Gadot.

VEEP
Synopsis: After Vice President Selina Meyer alienates Capitol Hill lobbyists in her first official act, the Veep’s staff runs damage control on a series of mishaps. The American political satire comedy tv series stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the fictional VP of the United States.
