Miss Universe PH docufilm 'A Queen's Runway' is now streaming on Netflix
A Queen’s Runway, a docufilm by Miss Universe Philippines, is now streaming on Netflix.
The one-hour and 52-minute documentary takes viewers behind the scenes of one of the country’s most iconic beauty pageants.
"Behind the crown and beyond the glamour, ambitious hopefuls chase their Miss Universe Philippines dream, facing fierce competition and great sacrifice," its premise read.
Likewise, the film features interviews with MUPH 2024 delegates, including the edition's titleholder Chelsea Manalo, Stacey Gabriel, Christi McGarry, and more.
The docufilm, helmed by Tom Sys and Erik Sopracasa, also follows Chelsea's journey to the Miss Universe 2024 crown.
Chelsea ended her Miss Universe 2024 journey in the Top 30 during the coronation night in Mexico on Sunday, Nov. 17 (PH Time).
Nonetheless, she made history becoming the first Miss Universe Asia 2024, one of the pageant's continental crowns. Joining her are Nigeria's Chidimma Adetshina, Finland's Matilda Wirtavuori, and Peru's Tati Calmell, who were named continental queens for Africa & Oceania, Europe, and the Americas, respectively.
The Bulakenya beauty queen also won the Best in Costume award, wearing a Hiraya ensemble by Filipino Fashion designer Manny Halasan during the pageant.
The country has won four Miss Universe crowns through Catriona Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).
Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines 2025 will take place on May 2 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
