My Hero Academia fans erupt on Twitter after Bakugo reveals explosive hero name

The upcoming Chapter 293 of hit superhero manga My Hero Academia is just a few days away yet leaks indicate that it will exceed fan expectations by releasing another bombshell — Katsuki Bakugo’s real hero name.

Spoilers from a leaked chapter showed Bakugo shouting his chosen hero name after his mentor Best Jeanist made a comeback. Bakugo earlier claimed that Jeanist would be the first one to find out when he decides on a hero name.

Popular fan translator Atsushi leaked the long-awaited revelation on Twitter with these words. Bakugo’s hero name: "Dynamite/DynaMight, The God of Great Killing Bomb, or, Dynamite/DynaMight, The Great Bomb Killer."

Almost immediately, Bakugo trended on Twitter with the hashtags #BNHA293, # DynaMight, #Kacchan, and #GroundZero, the hero name many fans christened him with. A deluge of responses soon followed, with comments ranging from  approval or surprise, to hilarious reactions and memes.

In hindsight, it seems like Bakugo, whose superpower/quirk is the ability to control explosions, may have combined his power with the name of his favorite hero, All Might, to create a hero name. When not addressed as Bakugo, the young hero is only known as Kacchan, a childhood nickname given by protagonist Midoriya Izuku.

According to the official chapter schedule provided on the Shonen Jump section of Viz Media, My Hero Academia Chapter 293 (English translation) is scheduled to be released on Sunday, Dec. 6.

Created by Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia follows the adventures of normal boy Midoriya who gains a superpower/quirk and studies in Hero Academy alongside his childhood friend-turned-bully Bakugo. With the anime set to return in spring 2021, all eyes are still on the manga series.
