Marvel Studios just dropped a brand new teaser trailer for Eternals featuring a first look at the exciting new team of super heroes joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The teaser for the MCU Phase 4 feature film, helmed by Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao, was released on Monday (May 24).
Based on the Marvel comics of the same name, the Eternals are a hidden race of godlike beings tied to world mythology and the creation of mankind and human civilization.
In addition to the trailer, Marvel Studios also released the official poster for the Phase 4 movie, which features a dramatic silhouette shot of the new team.
The two-minute long teaser gives viewers a glimpse of the diverse, all-star cast including Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Gemma Chan, Game of Thrones’ alums Richard Madden and Kit Harrington and Train to Busan’s Don Lee playing some pretty powerful characters.
As reported by Den of Geek, Harrington's character Dane Whitman based on Marvel’s Black Knight character is a wielder of the mystical Ebony Blade, a sword made from a meteor and blessed by Merlin that protects its user from harm in comic book lore.
According to the official synopsis courtesy of Marvel Studios:
“The epic story, spanning thousands of years, features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants. The outstanding ensemble cast includes Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena.
