Fans of K-Drama royalties Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum have a reason to celebrate before the challenging year of 2020 ends. The much awaited Sci-Fi Film Seo Bok will finally be shown in South Korea this December!

Production company CJ Entertainment released intriguing movie posters featuring the two lead characters, and dropped the first teaser trailer featuring action-packed scenes.

Seo Bok is the first South Korean film to discuss human cloning. The story revolves around Ki Heon (Gong Yoo), a former intelligence agent who discovered the first human clone named Seo Bok (Park Bo Gum). The chaos starts when several groups try to hunt down Seo Bok, with Ki Heon trying his best to protect him with the help of Korean Intelligence Bureau Chief Ahn (Jo Woo-jin).

In an interview with Vogue Korea last August, Park Bo Gum shared some interesting details about the film.

“It’s a film that allows us to think about the dignity of humanity, and it carries the message that humans shouldn’t become overly ambitious. It also allows us to think about the advancement of life science technologies.”

As for his character as Seo Bok, he explained that the name means “Live peacefully and for a long, long time.”

Park Bo Gum also talked highly about his co-star Gong Yoo, who Filipino fans first adored in the iconic K-Drama Coffee Prince. He discovered that the actor is very good at immersing himself in the moment when portraying a character.

“I once asked him for advice on how to act angry. He told me that if you just confidently let out a yell, then that feeling comes to you. There are also times when an actor feels embarrassed about expressing some emotion because even though it’s important to have had the character’s previous emotions built up beforehand, you can’t film everything in order like that. He told me that in times like that, using mind control is important.”

Park Bo-Gum is currently serving in the military, but he was able to leave some projects for his fans not to miss him too much: There’s the ongoing K-Drama Record of Youth, and another upcoming movie with Gong Yoo tentatively titled Wonderland, where they are joined by Bae Suzy and Choi Woo Shik.

As for Gong Yoo, He made his OG fans happy when he reunited with his Coffee Prince co-stars after 13 years for a special documentary. He is also set to star in an upcoming Netflix Original Series The Sea of Silence with Bae Doona and Lee Joo In.
