HUAWEI Pura 70 Series: Cool camera features, tricks we're loving so far
How do the new HUAWEI Pura 70 Series devices fare in smartphone photography?
ICYMI, the Chinese tech company revamped its P Series phones, giving it a new "Pura" moniker to reflect its stylish and unique design.
There are three devices in the latest line, namely the Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, and Pura 70 Ultra. The devices come with a durable Kulnun Glass display, 120Hz refresh rate, and HUAWEI's SuperCharge.
Enclosed in the triangle camera array are shooters that promise to elevate smartphone photography. Each device comes with Ultra Lighting cameras to enable users to take more crisp pictures.
The three devices vary in screen size, battery capacity and fast-charging capabilities, colorways, and camera specs. The most premium of the line, the Pura 70 Ultra, also touts a pop-out mechanism for its camera to take in more light and make shots clearer.
During the series' launch at HUAWEI's Gala Night on May 23, the company showed off these phones' photography prowess, as it teamed up with local photographers to capture different moments. We got to see this camera in action in person, too, and here are all the cool camera features and tricks we've tried on our first hands-on experience with the Pura 70 Series.
First impressions
The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra can be your concert buddy as its camera supports up to 100x digital zoom. It's gonna be a bit blurry if you're shooting something at that length, but when you go down to around 40x zoom, the image is still pretty clear and crisp.
Our first try shooting with the macro lens left us amazed as it's easy to snap pictures of tiny objects. The autofocus did its job of keeping the subject clear without even having to tap on the screen to change focus.
Like with other cameras on smartphones, the Pura 70 has different shooting modes: photo, video, portrait, pro, and night. This new HUAWEI phone adds something new to the table with the Ultra Speed Snapshot mode, which makes capturing action shots easier, without the need to go into Pro mode to tweak shutter speed, aperture, and ISO.
Available beginning May 31, the Pura 70 starts at P47,990, while the Pura 70 Pro and the Pura 70 Ultra go for P59,999 and P79,999, respectively. Pre-orders for the devices are available through HUAWEI physical and online stores. Check out HUAWEI's website to learn more.
