Wil Dasovich says he's not yet ready to settle down and have kids: 'I don't want to be an absent father'
Wil Dasovich's scenic travel vlogs say it all—he's been living the best life anyone could dream of. But if there's anything that the popular vlogger still hasn't thought of pursuing, that would be starting his own family.
The content creator spoke with Karen Davila on her YouTube channel regarding his plans of settling down after the journalist pointed out how his ex-girlfriend Alodia Gosiengfiao has exchanged 'I do's' with her husband Christopher Quimbo early this year.
While Dasovich is currently active in his dating life, he shared that thoughts of marriage have yet to cross his mind.
Davila then asked, "You think you love children?"
Setting the record straight, Dasovich said, "Yeah, I'll have kids eventually, pero ngayon, sa kasalukuyang moment na ito, masyadong marami akong ginagawa. If I have a kid, I want to be 100 percent [there for them,] I want to be the number one dad."
"Palagi akong wala, and I don't want to be an absent father right now," he continued, adding that he is set to fly to three different countries and won't be back in the Philippines for another month.
The 31-year-old vlogger recently achieved a notable milestone in his life when he set an official national record in the sport of Static Apnea (STA), a pool discipline where a person holds their breath face down in the water for as long as possible.
Dasovich was able to hold his breath for a total of five minutes and 39 seconds, and this was recognized by AIDA International, a worldwide rule- and record-keeping body for competitive breath-holding events.
However, in a recent update, the vlogger shared that he has now beaten his previous record after managing to hold his breath for five minutes and 44 seconds.
Asked by Davila what urged him to do this, Dasovich highlighted that he simply wants to challenge himself to boost his confidence.
"This is a huge part of what my life is all about. It's taking on these big endeavors and proving to myself na kaya ko ito. Kasi every time I do this, I gain confidence from it, and living with confidence equates to living with happiness. Kapag may confidence ka, you can do anything in the world."
"Our biggest kalaban a lot of the times is ourselves and self-doubt. And as long as we have the belief in ourselves that we can do something, then we can do anything. That's the thing that's holding back most people in life," he added.
Dasovich rose to fame for his travel videos that feature different aspects of Filipino culture. He had been in a three-year relationship with Gosiengfiao before the Filipino cosplayer announced in 2021 that the two of them had put an end to their romance.
