Maja Salvador shares why she hasn't revealed her baby girl's face to the public
Maja Salvador shared why she has yet to show the face of her daughter Maria to the public.
In an interview with the press at an event, the actress said she’s afraid that others might use Maria’s face in inappropriate images or videos using artificial intelligence.
“Ang hirap kasi ngayon, lalo na 'yung AI, natatakot ako na gamitin in the future. Kasi, maski ako, tayong lahat, hindi natin alam ginagamit na 'yung pictures natin, may ine-edit silang videos 'tapos pinatong nila somewhere, di ba?” she said.
Apart from the dangers of AI, Maja said she also wants to protect her daughter from online bashing.
“Marami akong kaibigan sa industriya na mayroong anak. 'Tapos, 'yung mga inosenteng bata, pino-post lang dahil gusto ng mga magulang. Siyempre, anak, proud. ‘Yung mga perfect na tao, kung maka-bash ay wagas. Alam n'yo po 'yun? Siyempre, bilang isang ina, bilang isang tao, ayaw ko,” she explained.
“Ako naman, hindi ako patolera pero feeling ko, parang may lalabas na ibang Maja na [kapag] i-post ko 'yung anak ko, 'tapos, may feeling perfect na tao na magko-comment na hindi maganda sa anak ko. ‘Yun ang iniiwasan ko,” she said.
The local star added that she appreciates fans who are choosing not to post photos of her baby when they are seen in public.
“Hindi talaga po muna [namin ipapakita]. But natutuwa kami kapag, kunwari may alis kami, siyempre, hindi mo naman talaga tatakpan 'yung bata. Pero may respeto rin 'yung mga tao na alam nilang ayaw pa namin i-post. O kunwari may biglang nag-picture, nandiyan ang mga kasamahan namin na nakikiusap na huwag na i-post at nirerespeto naman nila,” she added.
Maja announced her pregnancy in December with a Christmas-themed video. She and her husband, businessman Rambo Nuñez welcomed Maria in May 2024.
The two first got into a relationship in 2010, but called it quits a few months later. They confirmed their rekindled romance in March 2019 and announced their engagement in April 2022.
Maja and Rambo tied the knot in July 2023 at The Apurva Kempinski Bali in Indonesia.
