Pia Wurtzbach says she hates being asked about having kids: 'I just keep hearing that question everywhere'

If there's one question that Pia Wurtzbach is tired of hearing, it's the one where she is pressured to tell when she is going to have children with her husband Jeremy Jauncey.

The beauty queen opened up about this frustration in a two-hour interview with Emirati entrepreneur Anas Bukhash on his online show #ABTalks.

There, Pia discussed different aspects of her life until it came to a point where Anas asked her about whether or not she wants to have kids. She then showed her appreciation to him for not framing the question to "when."

"Thanks for asking because you know, people just ask me, 'When are you going to have kids?' After I got married, I just keep hearing that question everywhere," she said.

"Before getting married, it was like 'When are you going to get married?' and then now that we're married 'When is the baby?'" she added.

Pia clarified that she also has plans to have her own bundle of joy one day, but just not at this point in her career and her life. This decision was supported by her husband.

"In the future, we would love to have a family. But I just want to go back to [the issue of being asked when I'll have kids] because that's something that's been bothering me lately," she said. "I think your worth as a woman is not measured by you being able to bear a child. There's really so many more things to a woman that just bearing children."

She went on to emphasize that some women simply do not want to have kids as they are putting effort into other aspects of their lives.

"Maybe they want to take care of their parents all their life. Maybe they want to commit their life to social work. Maybe they just have different plans. That doesn't mean that a woman is less valuable or less capable," Pia explained.

With this, she expressed her desire to support women who have decided on this path for themselves.

"I really want to stand up for women who choose not to have kids. I respect that, I salute that," she said. "I want to [have kids], eventually, but I'm going to be honest, I'm hating that question [of when I'll have kids] lately."

In the past, Pia already made it clear that this question is not something that she enjoys hearing. Back in June, one follower asked the beauty queen on when she'll have a baby, to which she answered via her Instagram Story, "Honestly I find these questions so personal. I wonder why this is considered a normal thing to ask though?"

These questions came after the 2015 Miss Universe winner finally became a missus when she tied the knot with Jeremy on a private island in Seychelles in May this year.

In the interview, Anas also asked Pia about the most important thing that keeps her marriage with her husband healthy.

"I think what's been really helpful for us is that we are always communicating, and we are transparent with our communication. There's no sugarcoating, there are no flowery words, there is no beating around the bush. It is transparent," she said.

Another key factor that helped was that they managed to discuss topics that needed to be covered before getting married, something that she noticed was lacking in other couples.

"I hear about couples who never talk about finances with their partners, so they don't know if they're going to marry somebody who's in debt. [T]hey find this to be a difficult topic to talk about, but you've got to talk about the hard things," she advised.
