Julia Barretto and Sang Heon Lee fans are in for a feast!
Viu Philippines has released the official trailer for an appetizing rom-com TV mini-series Secret Ingredient starring the Filipina actress, the XO, Kitty star, and Indonesian actor Nicholas Saputra.
The story follows a Korean socialite named Hajoon, played by Sang Heon, and his journey to reconnect with his lost love, Maya, played by Julia. Maya has a passion for the culinary arts, leading her to learn from a famous chef, Arif, whose class is also attended by Hajoon.
Julia and Sang Heon were first spotted together in January 2024 eating Filipino food in Manila while working on a "secret project." It was later revealed to be for the mini-series, which will have six episodes.
A poster for the series, featuring the three stars was recently released last March 20.
In an interview with Nylon Manila, Barreto and Sang Heon shared they underwent professional culinary training in preparation for their roles.
"We really got ourselves dirty in the kitchen," the Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko star shared, adding that she was actually allergic to the seafood dishes on the show.
The South Korean actor also praised Julia for her professionalism on set in an interview with ABS-CBN News in January.
"I definitely liked every time Julia came on set she tried to be as happy as possible. Even if she feels sick or tired. She does not let that become an excuse. She always tried to make sure once the camera is rolling, she gets the take perfectly,” the XO, Kitty actor said.
Secret Ingredient will hit Viu on April 2024.
