Frenchie Dy suffers another Bell’s Palsy attack
OPM singer Frenchie Dy recently revealed her third bout with Bell's Palsy.
In an emotional video, Frenchie confessed to feeling discouraged by her recurring Bell's Palsy. However, she expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from loved ones.
“Pinaghinaan ako ng loob pero I know na maraming nagprpray for me… Andiyan yung asawa ko, nandiyan yung mga anak ko, my friends. Lahat ng sumusuporta sa akin nandiyan so kaya ko 'to. Laban lang,” she shared.
Frenchie thanked all the doctors and medical staff who helped her. She also displayed some of the medications and supplements she's using, including Vitamin B and steroids to manage her condition and prevent complications such as GERD, as well as anti-inflammatory drugs to alleviate her pain.
The Star in A Million Season 2 grand champion said her condition has gotten worse since the previous day. “Ngayon, parang mas grabe siya unlike yesterday nagagalaw ko siya ngayon medyo hindi siya gumagalaw ngayon. Sa mga susunod na videos siguro makikita natin. Sabayan niyo ako sa recovery sa Bell’s Palsy ko,” she shared.
She maintains a positive outlook despite her situation and has assured fans that she will provide regular updates on her condition and path to full recovery.
“I’ll update you sa mga tests na mangyayari sa akin kasi gusto din malaman ng mga doctors bakit pabalik balik yung Bell’s ko. Pangtalo na 'to so mga tests koMRI, EMG. ang hirap humanap at ang mahal pero go lang,” she shared.
In later videos, Frenchie demonstrated how she manages her Bell's Palsy with facial massages.
“Thank you guys for being with me. Samahan niyo ako sa journey to recovery nitong Bell’s Palsy ko,” she ended.
According to John Hopkin's Medical, Bell's Palsy is "an unexplained episode of facial muscle weakness or paralysis that usually goes away on its own and causes no complications." Its cause is unknown.
In 2004, Frenchie won the second season of ABS-CBN's Star in a Million, launching her career as a singer. She has also branched out into acting, with roles in films like Can't Help Falling in Love and the series Dolce Amore and Linlang, to name a few.
