Love is in the air for Ruffa Gutierrez and Herbert Bautista as the former has confirmed that the two of them are in a "serious" relationship.

The actress revealed this as she sat down with broadcast journalist Karen Davila accompanied by her daughters Lorin and Venice.

During the conversation, Karen asked her daughters if they wanted Ruffa to get married again, to which they shared that they wanted her to be happy no matter what she did before revealing that their mother was in a relationship.

"Her current partner now, he's lovely, he's a nice guy, he suits her really well, and she is ecstatic about him. Of course, I'm very happy for and again if she's happy, I'm happy," Venice said.

"Even with my mom's past partners and some people were a bit questionable, our mom has always followed her heart," Lorin added.

Karen then asked Ruffa for confirmation on her rumored romance with Herbert that started back in 2022, to which she affirmed, "It's always serious."

"I never go into a relationship that's not serious, I'm always the serious type," Ruffa highlighted.

Despite this, the local star opts to keep things between themselves, believing that a "a quiet, personal life leads to more happiness."

Lorin then said that if Ruffa and Herbert would take their relationship to the altar, she hoped that it wouldn't have to end in failure before urging other women to stay protected.

"Marriage is a very big commitment, so I've always advocated for prenuptial agreements, ways to be able to get out of a bad situation, but I do trust my mom's judgment. I firmly believe that will never be a situation she has to go through again, and hopefully I'd be a bridesmaid," she said.

Venice recalled that Ruffa and Herbert met on the set of the 2020 romantic comedy series The House Arrest Of Us, which starred Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

When they had their first date, Venice and Lorin were invited by Herbert to accompany them, something that they "really appreciated."

"Very proper. Sinundo kami sa bahay tapos sinama 'yung mga anak ko, sabi, 'I wanna meet them and to make sure that they're okay with him and everyone is comfortable' and that was Christmas time," Ruffa said.

"Honestly, just seeing our mom with him. She was just so happy," Venice said.

Lorin then revealed that Herbert played a big role in why their mom decided to continue her college studies during the pandemic.

"I do think that the tell-tale sign that this is real and this is a really strong connection is that he helped her get back into school and really encouraged that for her," she highlighted.

Prior to Herbert, Ruffa married Yilmaz Bektas, a Turkish businessman and the father of their two daughters, in 2003. They announced their separation through a joint statement in 2007.
