Amanda Bynes reportedly placed on psychiatric hold after roaming the streets naked
Amanda Bynes is placed on a psychiatric hold after she was found wandering the streets naked.
According to TMZ, the actress, who has bipolar disorder, flagged down a car in downtown Los Angeles and told the driver that "she was coming down from a psychotic episode." Amanda called 911 on herself before she was brought down to a nearby police station. There, she was recommended to be put on a 5150 psych hold, which usually lasts 72 hours.
A source told NBC News that Amanda "hasn't been in contact with her family for quite some time." Her ex-fiancé Paul Michael, meanwhile, revealed to Page Six that she has allegedly been "off her meds."
Just last year, the court terminated Amanda's conservatorship which lasted for eight years. In 2013, she was placed under a conservatorship—with her mother Lynn as the conservator—following multiple disturbing incidents.
In a statement through her attorney David Esquibias, the She's The Man star said that she had been "working hard to improve my health" and will "continue to prioritize my well-being in this next chapter."
The Nickelodeon alum was supposed to attend the '90s Con over the weekend but canceled due to an "undisclosed illness."
Amanda's former All That castmates, who attended the convention, shared a message for her.
“I’ve just been praying for her,” Kel Mitchell of Kenan and Kel told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s awesome to see she’s doing better. Which is great. We’re just continuing to pray for her on her journey, and it’s answered prayers that she’s doing a lot better,” he added.
