American actor-singer Jamie Foxx talked about his mystery illness that sent him to the hospital in April last year, saying it started with a "bad headache."

On X, The Art of Dialogue shared a video spotting Foxx in downtown Phoenix as he was speaking with a group of people about his condition.

“Look, April 11th last year. Bad headache. I asked my boy for an Advil," the 56-year-old said.

He then snapped his fingers.

“I was gone for 20 days,” Foxx said, placing his hand on his forehead. “I don’t remember anything.”

He said he was told he was in Atlanta, and that his sister Deidra Dixon and daughter Corinne Foxx took him to the first doctor.

Foxx then faced the woman on his left, saying, “They gave me a cortisone shot."

According to Mayo Clinic, a cortisone shot "can help relieve pain, swelling and irritation in a specific area of your body."

“The next doctor said something’s going on up there," Foxx said as he quickly pointed to his head.

He then raised his right hand and said, “I won’t say it on camera," prompting laughs from the crowd.

“But it was…” Foxx said as he gave a Gallic shrug.

In April 2023, Foxx was rushed to a medical facility in the state of Georgia, where he was filming a Netflix movie.

He didn't say what went wrong with his health, but said he went through something he thought he would "never ever go through."

Foxx received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the biopic Ray, which earned him best actor at the Oscars, British Academy Film Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Golden Globe Award.

He also starred in Miami Vice, Horrible Bosses, Django Unchained, and Baby Driver.

As a singer, his hits include Extravaganza, Unpredictable, Just Like Me, and Blame It. He also got featured in hits like Slow Jamz and Gold Digger.
