Glitz and glamour took over the recently concluded MEGA Ball 2023 as local stars showed up in their ensembles merging fashion and art.
Celebrities and beauty queens gathered at the bash on Independence Day, June 12 “to underscore the power of visual art in fashioning freedom and expression.” While most of the attendees opted for all-black outfits for a timeless look, there were some who went for pops of color and unexpected touches, too.
Here are some local personalities who turned heads as they incorporated art into their stylish ensembles at this year’s bash.
Bea Alonzo
Leading the night was the magazine’s June 2023 cover girl, Bea Alonzo, who stunned in a Mark Bumgarner number. The actress wore her hair up and matched it with subtle makeup and only a few accessories to highlight her exquisite evening wear at the event.
Heart Evangelista
We can always count on Heart Evangelista to deliver a heavy dose of glam with her outfits. Her black Schiaparelli gown, not to mention its hints of gold accentuated by some statement jewelry, absolutely made her a head-turner at the ball.
Michelle Dee
Reigning Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee stunned in what she called a fresh take on the Golden Tara of Agusan, which was reimagined by the House of Vilrique. Elevating her look were her smokey makeup by Dave Quiambao and gladiator heels by Jojo Bragais.
Rhian Ramos
We're totally here for Rhian Ramos' sheer outfit by Chris Nick. While she also didn't need much accessories to stand out in the MEGA Ball crowd, we love how the black bows on her sleeves gave it a playful touch.
Celeste Cortesi
Celeste Cortesi, who represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2022 competition, got all laced up for the bash—and we’re not complaining! We love how she rocked her Anthony Ramirez gown that subtly showed her chest tattoo. She finished off her look with a bun with fringe.
Arci Muñoz
Arci Muñoz opted to emphasize print and texture in her MEGA Ball 2023 look. The actress wore a piña silk sculptural piece by Ehrran Montoya gown in neutral shades, with a thigh-high slit that took her overall look to the next level. She ditched the accessories to keep the strong elements of her gown balanced.
Bianca Gonzalez
Bianca Gonzalez was a breath of fresh air in her denim outfit by Martin Bautista. The sexy back and teardrop elements in her chosen ensemble gave it a contemporary touch. She capped off her look with subtle makeup and a sleek hairstyle.
