Miss Universe Philippines Celeste Cortesi is a sight for sore eyes not only for her arresting physique and snazzy outfits, but also for her several tattoos.

At the preliminary competition of the 71st Miss Universe held on Thursday, January 12, eagle-eyed viewers like us noticed her inks when she paraded the stage in New Orleans, USA for the swimsuit and national costume portion where she wore a Darna costume.

Her tattoos may be small and dainty—with an exception of one—but some of them have a huge meaning.

From minimalist flower tattoos to an image of her dog, here are the beauty queen's body art, as seen on her Instagram photos.

Arrow with a diamond

One of Cortesi's most noticeable tattoos is the one right on her chest, an arrow with a diamond in the middle pointing downward.

It stood out during the Miss Universe Philippines swimsuit challenge last March, when she wore a red-two piece.

Feather

Cortesi also has a feather tattoo just below her left collar bone. According to Cortesi, it represents her guardian angel, her late father.

She goes on to say that she got these on her left side since that's where her heart is.

French bulldog

On Cortesi's forearm is an illustration of her beloved French bulldog named Dolce.

Viking characters

Cortesi's right wrist has an inscription in Viking that translates to English as, "If you want change, you have to invite chaos."

Her roots

The side of Cortesi's right thumb has a tattoo celebrating her nationality that reads, "half Filipina." Her left thumb, meanwhile, has one that reads, "made in Italy."

Dad's initials and birthday

Cortesi's left wrist has a tattoo bearing the initials of his late father, as well as his birthday.

Scorpion grass

When Cortesi wears a swimsuit, a floral tattoo on her upper right hip emerges. The tattoo signifies a forget-me-not or scorpion grass.

Palm tree

Cortesi's left thigh has a palm tree tattoo that is so unmistakable whenever she'd pose sideways.

Plant

Cortesi also has a plant-like tattoo on her lower left ankle, accentuated whenever she'd wear high heels.
