Angie Mead King's sports car catches fire: 'It's gone, no words'
Content creator and renowned car girl Angie Mead King suffered from a serious accident when her car caught fire while she was driving.
On her Instagram account, King posted a video of the remains of her red NSX sports car after its bottom half had been completely destroyed by the flames as she was driving along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
In a follow-up video, King updated her followers on the incident and assured them that no harm came to her.
"Hi guys, thanks for checking [in], I am alive. We gotta take care of towing the car. The car is gone, it's literally gone, caught on fire after the exit. It's gone. No words," a visibly shaken King said.
According to her, responders at SLEX put out the fire.
"I'm okay, my lungs hurt, the car was on fire while I was driving it, and then the car dropped down and basically burst into flames," she said.
"There's nothing I can do, the car is gone. There's no way to rebuild it, the rear chassis is completely burned, the wiring is completely burned. The metal is probably warped because the flames were intense. Not the way I wanted to end my day," she continued.
While King had no idea why the vehicle suddenly burst into flames, she shared that the car is modified and surmised that it "could be a multitude of things."
In the comments section, many of her fans expressed their relief at seeing her come out of the situation unscathed.
"It’s just a car. Your life is way more important. Thank God you’re safe!" one user commented.
Another wrote, "Hope everything is okay. Losing a car is tough, but losing a life is far worse. Glad you're okay. God Bless."
Prior to the accident, King flexed her car on her Instagram stories and shared how she had a "long day ahead."
Dubbed the Acura NSX, King's automobile is a two-seater, rear mid-engined, rear-wheel drive sports car manufactured by Honda. Its first generation was presented back in 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show. Years later in 2012, Honda officially unveiled its successor at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, introducing it as the Acura NSX Concept.
