All hands on deck for Fisherman’s Bucket

I have some experience handling loose seafood: Once, on a dare, I caught barehanded a 10-pound chum salmon hurled from 20 feet away at Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle (I have video to prove it).

But I wasn’t prepared for the new Fisherman’s Bucket at Fish & Co.

Imagine a boodle fight—but with just fresh seafood, brought by servers chanting “All aboard!” as they pull a plastic bag from a metal bucket and dump its steaming contents onto the wax paper covering your table.

Get ready for a Fish & Co.-style boodle fight.

Slip on a bib and plastic gloves and prepare to dig in.

Who gets the most crab? Who loves mussels and clams? Who will go for all that delicious shrimp?

That’s the Fisherman’s Bucket experience, and it kind of ups the ante for seafood lovers here in the Philippines.

Discover the new Fisherman’s Bucket at Fish & Co.

It’s Fish & Co.’s new dining experience for friends and family, bringing people together over fresh seafood. With a rich spread of juicy tiger prawns, tender mussels, fresh crabs, and sweet corn cobs swimming in flavorful Singaporean sauce brought out in a metal bucket, it celebrates a particularly Filipino spirit of togetherness.

That’s right. The Fisherman’s Bucket isn’t even offered in Singapore, where Fish & Co. originates. Just here, friends.

Marketing shows an opening for “unique” and bonding food experiences locally, and this offering fills that niche.

Want fish and chips? Choose from seven varieties, including Swiss version (with mozzarella, dried oregano, kosher salt) and NY version (with mozzarella, grana Padano, sundried tomato).

The Fisherman’s Bucket is offered in two serving portions, with optional add-ons.

The Sailor’s Catch (2-3 pax) comes at P1,850, including clams (120g), mussels (150g) tiger prawns (200g), crab (250g), corn cob (2pcs) and potato wedges. It’s served in a tasty, proprietary “Singapore sauce,” but you can dip the assortment of shellfish into four sauces that complement and enhance the experience. Choose from bold Singapore Chili, rich Lemon Butter, punchy Chili Garlic, or crisp Ginger to customize every bite.

Prawn Fettuccine is creamy and delicious.

You can go even bigger with The Captain’s Bucket (4-5 pax) at P2,950: this includes clams (250g), mussels (300g), tiger prawns (400g), crab (500g) and corn cob (4pcs).

Extras include clams (200g for P395), mussels (200g for P395), tiger prawns (200g for P695) and crab (2pcs for P850).

Upgrade your meal with optional rice add-ons to soak up all the delicious flavor: choose the Plain Rice Platter for P150 or the signature Seafood Rice Platter for P250. Guests may also opt to add two whole pieces of Corn on the Cob for P300.

Salmon Belly in Tamarind Soup is Fish & Co.’s version of sinigang.

For those not hungry enough for a whole bucket, there are great new solo offerings.

Fish & Co’s new All Yours, All Day Season 3 is tailored to individual seafood enjoyment. You can curate your own meal that includes an appetizer, an entrée, and a drink.

Starting at P385, guests can taste the new dishes on this menu. Select either of the two salad options as an appetizer—Garden Salad or Caesar Salad.

Then choose your entrée—Fish and Squid Sisig, Fish with Garlic Parmesan, Grilled Pork Loin with Brown Gravy Sauce, Chicken Curry, or Grilled Honey Lime BBQ Chicken (+P65). Prices are VAT inclusive and 10% SC.

Guests can avail of the offer at Fish & Co. Shangri-La Plaza, Uptown Mall BC and Venice Grand Canal Mall, McKinley. (This cannot be combined with other offers or discounts, including the BFF and Senior Citizen discounts).

In addition to the Fisherman’s Bucket, we tried out plenty of other entrees, including four kinds of fish and chips—the New York version (stuffed with mozzarella, grana Padano, sundried tomatoes), the Philadelphia (stuffed with cream cheese), the Swiss (with mozzarella, dried oregano, kosher salt) and Sambal (coated in crispy batter and sambal sauce); for slightly more, you can try the premium Halibut Fish and Chips (instead of dory), all served with fries.

In between, we had a Fish & Co. Starter Sampler, packed with prawn fritters, fried calamari and crispy crablets; Salmon Belly in Tamarind Soup (sinigang); Fried Pompano, a tasty offering surrounded by veggies; and a creamy Prawn Fettuccine with shitake mushrooms and Alfredo sauce. (We topped it off with several cake slices from The Bistro Group’s nearby Secret Recipe at Shangri-La Plaza; the ube flan and the cheesecake were to die for.)

For seafood fans, the Fisherman’s Bucket makes it fun to roll up your sleeves and savor the ultimate seafood feast together. So dig in—all hands on deck.
