Dingdong Dantes breaks silence on love child rumors with Lindsay De Vera

Dingdong Dantes broke his silence about the resurfaced rumors that he has a love child with Lindsay De Vera.

In a guesting on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on May 9, Dantes outright dismissed them as false. “Wala po,” he said. “Hindi po totoo.”

The 43-year-old actor said he thought hard about whether he’d respond to the issue or simply ignore it, especially since his loved ones were reaching out to him.

“I have a responsibility dito sa aking mga mahal sa buhay,” he said. “I have a responsibility sa aking pamilya, 'di ba, to clear things like this. Because I love my wife, I love my family very much, my kids. That's why I'm saying that it is not true.”

De Vera, in 2021, denied being impregnated by Dantes, much less having a relationship with him, whom she addressed as “Kuya Dong.”

At the time, she said she was planning to file cases against those who spread the rumors.

Dantes’s wife Marian Rivera, meanwhile, during that same year also dismissed the claims, even noting that she was laughing a lot about it.

“Niloko ko siya, sabi ko, 'Ano ba 'yan, ang daming buntis-buntis,’” Rivera said. “Sabi ko, 'Beke nemen, baka ako ang susunod diyan.' Tapos tawa siya nang tawa.”

Dantes and De Vera appeared together in the teleserye Alyas Robin Hood in 2017. He's 35 and she's 17 at the time.

The following year, De Vera worked on Victor Magtanggol and has since taken a break from showbiz to focus on her studies.

Dantes and Rivera got married in 2014. They have two children together.
