Alex Eala’s NYFW debut generates $502K in media value
Alex Eala is getting recognized not only on the tennis courts, but at the recent New York Fashion Week, too, with her debut generating half a million dollars in earned media value.
Lefty, an influencer marketing platform, highlighted how athletes are making their mark in fashion as “another way for brands to tap into existing cultural conversations.”
Her Calvin Klein appearance proved particularly notable, with Eala’s presence at the Spring 2027 runway show racking up $502,000 (~P31 million) in earned media value, the platform reported.
Lefty explained that EMV is a metric used to measure the impact of a person’s social media presence, as it represents the “estimated cost of achieving equivalent reach through paid advertising.”
In the same Lefty report, actress-host Heart Evangelista was named among the top voices at New York Fashion Week, generating $5.7 million (~P356 million) in media mileage.
In her short reel posted by Elle, Eala shared how fashion allows her to express herself outside the tennis court.
"I love that in tennis, we're able to express ourselves through fashion. I know that in a lot of sports, maybe it's a little more restrictive. You're able to show your personality in both worlds, and you know, I'm excited to explore more," Eala said. The tennis player has also had an exclusive collection with Nike and wore custom tennis looks including the iconic "Kapag lumago, hindi na hihinto" design.
Eala's NYFW debut came fresh off her run to the third round of this year’s US Open. Her fashion week itinerary extended beyond Calvin Klein, with appearances at Tory Burch and Michael Kors shows. She also crossed paths with Amanda Seyfried, Lauryn Hill, and fellow Filipina, model Kelsey Merritt.
Eala, currently world No. 18, is now in Singapore for the Singapore Open, which will be held from Sept. 22 to 27. She enters as the No. 3 seed.
