BTS' Jimin reveals struggle to keep his weight within the 50 kg range for solo debut

BTS' Jimin opened up about his weight loss struggles in preparation for his solo debut slated for Friday, March 24.

In a behind-the-scenes featurette of the Set Me Free Pt. 2 music video, the K-pop idol said keeping his weight within the 50-kilogram to 59-kilogram range hasn't been an easy feat, but he's "kind of getting used to it now."

His diet tip? Every night, make it a point to write what you want to eat the following day.

"Every night, I write down what I want to eat before going to bed. Yesterday, I wrote kalguksu, daechang, and ramyeon. I was craving something spicy. It's been so long since I've had tteokbokki. Kalguksi with really good kimchi sounds amazing," Jimin went at length about his cravings.

Previously, Jimin shared that he weighed 58.6 kilograms and stood 174 centimeters tall. That calculates to a body mass index of 19.4, counted as the normal weight range including BMIs between 18.5 and 24.9.

"I just think I can show something a little more raw about me. That might include a more mature side, too, but what I’m really interested in is showing something closer to my real, personal rawness directly in a format like music or music videos. By doing so, I think maybe I can show something I never have before," Jimin explained in a previous interview with Weverse Magazine.

The singer's upcoming solo album FACE will be the first BTS individual album release following J-Hope's Jack in the Box in July 2022 and RM's Indigo in December last year.

FACE is all about Jimin facing himself head-on as he gets ready for his next step as a solo artist,” Big Hit Music wrote in a statement.

Jimin has collaborated with BIGBANG's Taeyang for the latter's single Vibe, as well as with Ha Sung-woon for the Our Blues official soundtrack With You.
