Get ready for the debut of another soloist, ARMY. BTS' Jimin has officially announced that he is launching his solo album in March.

The BTS vocalist and main dancer shared the news as a surprise during a Weverse livestream on the night of Feb. 10.

“I think the album I’ve been working on is going to drop in around March,” he began. “I’m currently preparing lots of things that I can do together with you guys around that time. I’m planning lots of different kinds of things we can do to have fun together and enjoy ourselves, so I think you can safely look forward to it.”

Rumors about the launch of Jimin's solo debut began circulating late last year, with reports stating that it is likely to come out in February 2023.

BTS' agency, BigHit Music, briefly commented on the rumors in January of this year, saying, "The [release] schedule will be revealed once it is finalized."

In his latest Weverse livestream, Jimin expressed how eager he was to break the news to fans,

"You’ve been waiting for such a long time that I wanted to quickly announce this news first before starting [the rest of the broadcast]," he said.

The upcoming launch of Jimin's album comes eight months after BTS announced that they are taking a break from group activities and will begin pursuing solo projects on June 14, 2022.

In an interview with Weverse Magazine published days after the group's announcement, Jimin said that he wants his music to reflect his "raw side."

He explained, "I just think I can show something a little more raw about me. That might include a more mature side, too, but what I’m really interested in is showing something closer to my real, personal rawness directly in a format like music or music videos. By doing so, I think maybe I can show something I never have before."

Prior to this, Jimin collaborated with BigBang's Taeyang on the song "Vibe," which was released last January 13. The track entered the Billboard Hot 100 at no. 76 which, according to Billboard, marks the debut of both singers in the chart as soloists.

The release of Jimin's solo album is the first for the group this year, following J-hope's Jack in the Box on July 15 of last year and RM's Indigo on Dec. 2, 2022.
