Lisa tells fans BLACKPINK is here to stay: 'This is our life'
BLACKPINK members may have launched their solo careers but Lisa reassures fans that they will continue making music as a group.
The K-pop idol made the statement on her cover story in ELLE magazine, where she talked more about her solo career, and being a member of the popular girl group.
Now focusing on her solo career, Lisa established her own label, LLOUD, recently released her single Rockstar, and has an upcoming song collaboration with Rosalía. She is also set to headline the 2024 Global Citizen Festival in New York with pop stars Doja Cat, Jelly Role, and Post Malone.
Apart from music, she will make her acting debut in the third season of The White Lotus.
Despite thriving in solo pursuits, she reassured their Blinks that she would not leave the group.
“Of course, we’re continuing, for sure,” the Lalisa singer said. “We’re so proud of BLACKPINK, and I love BLACKPINK. It is not just because of our fans, it’s for ourselves. There was no doubt. This is our life.”
Lisa, and her co-members, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé have parted ways from their former parent company, YG Entertainment, to give more focus on their solo projects. Despite this, all four renewed their contracts with the agency in December 2023 to continue their group activities.
In the same month, Jennie established her own label dubbed Odd Atelier (OA), while earlier in February, Lisa launched her own talent agency called LLOUD.
Meanwhile, Jisoo also started her own talent agency, Blissoo, while Rosé joined TheBlackLabel.
In July this year, YG Entertainment founder and producer Yang Hyun Suk revealed that BLACKPINK will have its highly anticipated comeback and world tour in 2025.
The group recently celebrated its eighth anniversary with a special fan sign event.
They finished their Born Pink world tour in September 2023, which included a two-night show at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan in March of the same year.
Debuted on the K-pop scene in 2016, the group is best known for their hit songs How You Like That, Kill This Love, Shut Down, and Typa Girl, among others.
