Kris Aquino shares son Bimby wants to go into public service
Kris Aquino shared that her son Bimby Aquino wants to go into public service.
The "Queen of All Media" revealed this as the 19-year-old appeared in his first brand endorsement as an adult for a healthcare plan brand on Sept. 22.
In the video, the Eat Bulaga! host talked about his mom's health journey, as she battles several autoimmune diseases. Kris shared a message to her son in the comments section of the clip.
"Bimb, I purposely waited for the video to be [posted] before watching and I am a very proud mama," she wrote. "You spoke from the heart."
Kris went on to share how she has discussed the importance of healthcare and education with her son, whom she revealed has plans to go into public service.
"When you told me that you wanted to go into public service[,] I already started to nag you that healthy citizens will be hardworking[,] tax-paying citizens. And children learn so much from K to grade 6," the "Queen of All Media" said.
"I told you that my dream for all public schools was to have a Science Technology Engineering and Math classroom equipped with [one] computer per child and strong internet because by investing in that, we are giving the youth the tools they need to have jobs anywhere in the world[.] But I pray that there will be enough work in our country that going abroad won't be necessary."
In Erin Diaz's April 2025 vlog, Bimby revealed that he planned to study Legal Management, with ambitions to become a lawyer.
In an Aug. 31 TikTok livestream, the 19-year-old also shared his thoughts on going into public service. He said that he doesn't plan to run for youth council, or Sangguniang Kabataan, yet, as he plans to go to college first.
"You can serve the public without going into government; that's what my lola always said also. Pero iba talaga if you're an administrator[,]" Bimby said, referring to her grandmother, the late former president Cory Aquino. His uncle, the late Noynoy Aquino, was also president from 2010 to 2016.
In January 2024, Kris shared that Bimby had to work to help with her medical bills as she battles multiple autoimmune diseases.
